Glossary

This is a glossary of terms and abbreviations that I use pretty frequently. Bear in mind that these are also my own definitions of these terms, they may or may not differ slightly from other writers or industry professionals.

Pantsing – When you “write by the seat of your pants” with no idea where you are going with characterization or plot and
simply allow the characters to take you where they will

PRO – A status of members of the RWA National Organization that have completed a manuscript and have sent it out to agents and/or publishers and have received rejections. The reason for this distinction is that many people out there simply write and never submit. Submitting is the hard part. Receiving rejection is even harder.
